05 October - Selwyn Press - Newsletter
The start of the school year seems long ago now, as the children have all settled into their new classes and been making great progress.
This week saw learning both within and beyond the classroom. Highlights are as follows:
- Year 3 went on a trip to Southend Beach, to support the learning they are doing in humanities this term. We were lucky with the weather, and everyone very much enjoyed extending their learning in this way. I am delighted to report that not only did the children learn, but they behaved so well that a member of the public emailed us at school to remark on this. Well done year 3!
- Our year 5 children have been working with the Bow Arts Project, and are in the process of finishing off some very special portraits. See the newsletter for more detail.
- Congratulations to all our 5C certificate winners, whose names are in the newsletter.
- We are delighted to be able to report that this week, 2 classes achieved 100% attendance at school: well done to both 3B and 5B for the brilliant effort you made to be in class every day.
And finally, we were delighted to welcome so many parents to our Meet the Teacher evenings. We hope you found these meetings worthwhile, and look forward to seeing you at more in the future.
