09 July - Selwyn Press - Newsletter

Monday 09 July 2018

This week was one of learning both at school and beyond.  A few of the highlights that are described in more detail in the newsletter as as follows:

  • The class sports days were held over a number of days, producing some excellent performances, as well as great examples of teamwork and good sportsmanship - well done to everyone.
  • The Year 3 children enjoyed the challenge they were set in their science lesson this week - see the newsletter to find out more!
  • A group of Year 5 and 6 children were selected to attend a Girls of the World seminar at Eastlea Community School, which they found very interesting.
  • As a school, we always focus on ensuring that children attend school to ensure that teaching and learning are effective.  Congratulations to RT and 4F for achieving 100% attendance.

Congratulations were also due in the Staff Room: Mr Greer acheived his Qualified Teacher Status, and graduated at a ceremony at Tollgate.  Well done Mr Greer - we have been delighted to have you train at Selwyn.

Finally, the provisional results of the Year 6 nationwide SATS tests will soon be released.  Please see the documents below the newsletter, which the DfE has provided to all parents of children in Year 6.  These are also available as documents to download on the Parent Resources Page.

Remember to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for immediate school news.
