18 January 2019 - Selwyn Press - Newsletter

Friday 18 January 2019

We are only in the second week of term, but already, so much is going on, above and beyond our classroom based learning of the National Curriculum.  Some highlights include:

  • We are delighted to announce that building on the work that we have done at school and the partners we have worked with (eg. Place2Be), we are now working towards the achievement of a Wellbeing Award for our school.  Children, staff, parents and carers are all involved in the process - please read the newsletter for details on how you can help.
  • Outside learning continues to be an important part of life at Selwyn, and this week, year 5 were outside feeding the birds, and Reception children were able to take on new challenges outside using the equipment we have at school.  Being outdoors is ever more recognised as an important part of learning and developing for children.
  • I am delighted to see that we already have a class that has achieved a 100% attendance record - well done to 2B!  6P were close behind with 99%.  Well done to all.

Please continue to look out for messages which will be emailed to parents via ParentMail, to ensure that you keep up to date with what is going on at school.  The school calendar also contains details of all activities at school.
