24 May and 07 June 2019 - Selwyn Press - Newsletter

Friday 07 June 2019

Welcome to this week's double newsletter, which reports on both the last week before the half term break, and the first week of this final half term of the school year.  We hope that you enjoy the new newsletter format, which has been designed to ensure that it is easy to download and read on all mobile as well as fixed devices.

Please see curriculum maps, and our programme of extra curricular clubs, both for summer 2 and available on the website.

Highlights of the 2 week period include:

  • We so enjoyed seeing who the children chose as their famous Londoner as we celebrated London History Day on Friday 24th May.  See who you can spot in the pictures in the newsletter!
  • Year 6 found their visit to The Crystal very interesting, where they toured a permanent exhibition of sustainable cities - and came way enthused about how they could contribute to the cities of the future.
  • Year 1 were also out and about - this time, in our school gardens, where they extended their classroom learning about sunflowers to the planting of seeds in the garden.  We can't wait to watch them grow!
  • Congratulations to all children who were awarded a 5Cs certificate this week, in recognition of their hard work.
  • Fantastic news re attendance: for the first time this academic year, we have a double celebration of both a Key Stage 1 class, 2B, and a Key Stage 2 class, 3G, with 100% attendance this week - not a single child absent, for a single day this week.  Congratulations to each and every one of the children in these classes.
  • The house points competition is hotting up - with the final announcement of the winner due to be made on Friday 21st June.  Keep up the great work and good behaviour to keep your house in the running for the prize.....

Welcome to this week's double newsletter, which reports on both the last week before the half term break, and the first week of this final half term of the school year.  We hope that you enjoy the new newsletter format, which has been designed to ensure that it is easy to download and read on all mobile as well as fixed devices.

Finally, there is a lot going on this final half term.  Please keep an eye on the School Calendar to see what we have planned at school.
