26 February - Selwyn Press - Newsletter

Monday 26 February 2018

Welcome back to school after the half term break - it doesn't feel like February!  Please ensure that your child is warmly dressed in this freezing weather so that they can play outside at break times.

As always at Selwyn, attendance and safegurading are vitally important to ensure the health and welfare of our children, and to ensure that learning can take place.  As parents are aware, we track attendance carefully, and are delighted to be able to report that 2RB achieved 100% this week - congratulations!  Several other classes achieved 99% and above.  Please ensure that your child attends school every day in order to support their learning.

We were delighted to welcome the NSPCC to school on Thursday last week.  The charity delivered a workshop entitled Speak Out, which teaches children how to speak out to ensure that they stay safe.

The whole school very much enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year, which was on Friday 16th February.  We were very lucky to be led in the celebrations by a team from the Confucius Institute in London.

Finally, all key activities taking place between now and the end of term are now in the school calendar - please ensure that you check it regularly.
