29 March 2019 - Selwyn Press - Newsletter

Friday 29 March 2019

Welcome to this week's newsletter, which is also provided directly to parents via ParentMail every week.  An additional copy is available to download on this page.  Highlights this week include:

  • School was quieter than normal this week as a group of year 4 and 5 children headed out to Fairplay House outdoor education centre for the week.  My thanks to all staff who gave up their time to support the children on this adventure.
  • Year 3 equally enjoyed a different sort of adventure....with the dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum.  See our Twitter and Facebook accounts for more pictures ...and our scary video of our close encounter with a very large beast.....
  • We were delighted to welcome parents and carers to school for our Reception Teddy Bears' Picnic, which was very much enjoyed by all, and which supported the work the children have been doing in English.
  • The year 4 children were also out and about - their expedition was to attend a workshop at the Whitechapel Gallery, throughout which they were perfect ambassadors for our school.
  • We were very proud of our budding mathematicians who attended the first heat in the Count on Us Primary Maths Challenge.  They were very exited to have the opportunity to visit the mayor's office, where the heat was held.

As always, the summer term will be a busy one.  Please keep up to date by checking events on the school calendar.
